Which one to choose?

For 110nm Avalon ASICs - A256
Choose the 0.3.2 version. The "q" or "s" depends on the PIC package that is currently available and you can buy.

For 55nm Avalon ASICs - A255
Choose the 1.0.1 version. The "q" or "s" depends on the PIC package that is currently available and you can buy.

Versions

Multiple versions of the K16 and K1 boards are actually available. Here you can see the differences between all of them. Basic rule is to choose the board with the highest version available, but if you're going to use an older ASICs or a different power regulators, then pay a good attention to the table below to see, which version was the latest for the particular chip.

Please note, that the v1.0.0 and after are still work in progress and are untested!

The final version of the first generation K16. Available in "s" and "q" mod - "s" stands for SSOP version of the PIC used, "q" stands for the QFN. Both identical, just in different packages.
1.0.0 Second
(55nm)
Modified K16 for 55nm Avalons (named K16-55).
1.0.1 Second Same as the 1.0.0. Just some clearances were modified, so the soldermask is in between the ASICs pads. Available in "s" and "q" mod - "s" stands for SSOP version of the PIC used, "q" stands for the QFN. Both identical, just in different packages.
